Contacts lost with Beirut-bound plane from Cyprus


Contacts were lost on Wednesday with a plane used for training while en route to Beirut from Cyprus.

Sources noted that the Cypriot aircraft a Cypriot national and a Lebanese pilot, George Obagi, where on board the plane that disappeared from radar at 26 miles away from the Lebanese coast.

Cypriot parties were immediately dispatched to look for the plane and asked Lebanese rescue teams to cooperate.

Sources to LBCI: Cypriot plane’s pilot called Cyprus airport at 7:02 pm, reported technical problem before plane went off radar 2 minutes later.
